Jenny Saville (born in Cambridge in 1970) is a contemporary English painter and one of the Young British Artists (YBAs). She is known for her monumental images of obese women, usually using herself as the model. Her painting North Face/South Face appeared on the cover of The Manic Street Preachers third album The Holy Bible.

There is a something about an artist that chooses to be seduced by the grotesque and one a century earlier who chose to be seduced by water lilies. London really has become a magnet for artistic inferioriety complexes.

"You are what you pretend to be," said Vonnegut. It's especially an important observation for artists who are pulled into the vortex by their own "copy."
